Gods and Monsters

A divine intervention
A meeting of two lost souls.
Hopeless romantics,
Tragic and doomed.
What is this?
Who are we?

You are the antidote to the toxin flowing through my veins,
Saving me, like you always do.
The uncontrollable fire that melted this
Frozen heart,
The one that keeps me warm on my
Coldest nights.
A howling wolf to my pale moonlight,
Lonely but never alone.
Oh, how I’ve searched for you.

Because we are gods and monsters,
And we understand each other.

Your kiss, like the deepest of oceans,
I want to drown in it and become
Something new.
Your words, like a honeyed elixir
In my mouth, I want to feel dripping
Inside every part of me.
Your eyes, like pools of black obsidian, See through my every facade.

We are gods and monsters,
And we were made for each other.

I was lost in the perilous seas of
Heartbreak and sadness,
But you reached for me,
Reached into the deepest parts of me.
The hidden ones that I never let
Anyone see.
You know me like no one ever has.

Shaped like clay,
From destruction and agony.
Created into the gods and monsters
That most people fear,
But we understand one another
Because we were born for it.

Past lives melted into the present ones;
Destined for a future amongst the stars.
Or damned to walk this Earth
Amongst the living.
Whatever happens, I know this,
That I am yours, my love,
And I am not afraid of your pain.

So don’t forget me when you close your
Eyes tonight.
Don’t forget how we’re meant to be.
Don’t forget the way your blood sings
For mine.

Don’t forget me.

I've always had a passion for writing. In this crazy world that we live in, I find my solace in made up words and make believe stories. Let's escape into the void and forget about it all just for a moment or two.
