Dangerous Ones: A Halloween Lullaby

We are the dangerous ones.

The ones who dance under a blanket of stars and sing to the Moon.
No need for a savior,
Our sins are balanced
On the scales of Justice,
And they outweigh every
Ounce of good left in us.
No Saints need apply,
Because we are the dangerous
Ones;
The ones no longer afraid of the
Monsters lurking in our memories.

We wear our hearts on our sleeves
Crimson soaked and broken,
No longer wearied from sleepless
Nights,
We thrive in the shadows
And dwell in the absence of light.
Because we are the dangerous ones;
The ones with souls darkened by the past.

With blood-red tears
Staining our cheeks
And our bared teeth,
We take each other’s hands
And escape to the forest,
Where we can be together.
Possessing each other in
Our own private sanctum.
Because we are the dangerous ones
Who don’t live for yesterday.

No, not us.
We live only for tonight,
With a pyre built to the gods.
We live it like it’ll be our last.
And don’t even think about tomorrow.

Long, slow kisses on hidden places and
Fingers trailing unexplored parts of
Each other,
Like uncharted waters;
We make love under the Moonlight,
Like it’s ritualistic and hungry.
Because we are the dangerous ones
That everybody fears,
Since we are truly free.

You and I are linked,
Bound together from now until the
Forever after.
Twin Flames born to live and die
For each other.
My poison is yours
And yours is mine.
My demons call for yours,
Like they were created for each other
In the fire that they were born in.

Because we are the dangerous ones,
And we belong together.

I've always had a passion for writing. In this crazy world that we live in, I find my solace in made up words and make believe stories. Let's escape into the void and forget about it all just for a moment or two.
