They were calculating,
They were dangerous,
They were feral.

At once I felt both safe and in peril.
You’d bewitched me.
Placed me under some spell.
My hands no longer my own,
Found their way to your cold cheek.
Your eyelids closed at the touch.
You breathed me in and that was it.

Something in you changed.
Something in me changed as well.
That night we would spend,
would be the first of many.
Nothing standing in our way.

Centuries have come and gone.
And I’ve walked alone.
Waiting for you.
I knew then what I know now,
That we are one, a bond unbreakable.
