“How to write a poem?” they ask.
“Find the truth in the despair,”
She replies.
Write what speaks to
What you’ve felt,
And all that you’ve seen.
For her words are piercing,
Like an arrow to the heart.
Like a dagger to your
Very soul.
She writes her poetry,
To release her sadness,
And to break the hold
A first love has on her.
For someday,
She hopes to know
The true joy of romance, again.
But, sadly, it may not be today.
And so,
She grabs her tools
Of poetic persecution,
And writes about the pain.
Writes about feeling
Spring’s first kiss
And his warmth on her skin.
She writes about longing
And yearning,
And strings of broken silence,
Plucked to mournful perfection.
She writes.
And she never stops.
But her own story is a mystery.
Behind angelic eyes and
Devilish smiles,
She’s a riddle of
Seductive words,
Under layers of moonlight.
Scribbling poetic notes on the
Sides of torn pages.
Scribbling poetic notes
About him.
She is, after all,
Just a writer in the dark,
Weaving tales of an
“Almost love.”
Tales of heartbreak and
Triumph,
Darkness and paradise.
She is, after all,
Just a writer in the dark,
Bleeding out her madness,
For all the world to see.
And we experience every word.
