A Star with Sinful Secrets

A chance meeting.

A stranger becomes
A friend becomes
A lover.

You’ve read me,
Cover to cover
Chapter after chapter
And soothed my callused soul
With your melody.

I can see the music
Of our story,
Whimsical and pure.

I can taste the poetry of it
Like a high note
On the tip of my tongue.

To them,
It’s just a love song,
But to me,
It’s so much more.

More than the
Words merely sang,
Or written on the pages
Of long-lost letters.

It’s love,
In its purest,
Rawest form.
Like unhewn stones,
Buried in a forgotten cave.

It’s the influx of new blood
Coursing through my
Flushing of what used to be.

You are,
For lack of a better word,

Transforming the sadness
Of the broken-hearted Grim Reaper,
And turning them into something

Dark, yes.
But, beautiful

Suspicious that I am,
I have endlessly believed
There’s always a star
With sinful secrets,
Hiding its face,
From the world.

Afraid to be seen.
Afraid to hurt.

In retrospect,
I think that star
Was me.

And yet,
Though I’ve stayed
In the shadows for so long,
You found me.

Reached into my chest,
And plucked out my shame.
And each and every one
Of my hidden figures.

I wonder, though,
Oh, sweet magician,
If only the sun can rhyme with the
Would eternity finally be ours?

Because I would chase
Them both across the sky,
To start a new life with you.

Art: “Yours Truly,” Jumo Art
“Strings of Broken Silence”
“Broken Hearted Grim Reaper”
“If only the sun can rhyme with the moon.”
“There’s always a star with sinful secrets.”

I've always had a passion for writing. In this crazy world that we live in, I find my solace in made up words and make believe stories. Let's escape into the void and forget about it all just for a moment or two.
