Dancing in the Moonlight

You live in the place beyond.
Far from my reach.
You live in a place where I cannot go.

In a place where my words,
You may never read.
In a place where my voice,
You may never hear.

I long for you every night, anyway.
I long for love.
I long for passion.
I long for hope.

In another life,
You’d be mine.
And we’d make love
Until the sun comes up.

In this one, though,
I just wish and dream.
Dream about what your
Touch feels like.
Dream about how it feels
To be loved by you.

But, you live in the place beyond.
Far from my devotion.
In a place, I’m not yet worthy enough to
Go.

My heart aches at the
Thought of us.
Of memories that have never
Happened.
Of conversations that have never been
Had.
Nights spent alone without you by
My side.

My heart breaks at the
Thought of you
And how I imagine my name
Sounds across your lips.

Every star that I see
I wish for you.
I wish.
I yearn.
I crave.

In the hopes that one day,
We’ll be together
And we’ll dance in the
Moonlight together.
Bathing in the starshine.
The nighttime sounds as
Our symphony.
Heart connected to heart.
Lips pressed to lips.
Your arms wrapped around
My body,
Where they belong.

But for now,
I’ll just dream.

Dream that I’m yours.
Always and until the end of our
Time in this earthly realm.
Until the boatman takes us home,
To be together for eternity.

I’ll dream of you loving me.
And what those words
Would feel like.

I've always had a passion for writing. In this crazy world that we live in, I find my solace in made up words and make believe stories. Let's escape into the void and forget about it all just for a moment or two.
