Eternity

The sky begins to lighten.
Transitioning from the dark, tranquil night to bursting bright orange and red.

The sun shines through my window pane, and my thoughts are immediately on you.

I look beside me, and your side is empty and cold; a tear streams down my cheek.

My heart aches at the loss of you.
The darkness creeps back and clouds my memories.

I try to stop the tears and the sadness, but they vibrate through my broken body.
I am completely lost.

The rain begins to fall, and I hear it splashing against the window.
The beautiful morning now gray and gloomy, like the day I said goodbye to you.

I kissed your forehead and tucked your hair behind your ear.
I told you I loved you, and you whispered it back.
It was barely audible, but I heard it.

When you shut your eyes for the last time, I gasped.
Shock washed over me like icy cold water.

I wept so much that eventually, I had no more tears to shed.
My body wracked with the pain of losing you.

I thought about our first night, you surprised me with Champagne and Roses, and we had a picnic under the stars.
I hold that memory close to my heart and always in my mind.

My sweet Moon Prince, my Shadow Knight,
But that I could fly away with you,
And dance amongst the clouds and the constellations.

I know you are waiting for me.
I will be there one day; to hold you and kiss you, to be yours once again.
And then we will have Forever.
We will have eternity.

I've always had a passion for writing. In this crazy world that we live in, I find my solace in made up words and make believe stories. Let's escape into the void and forget about it all just for a moment or two.
