Here I am,
Standing outside in the downpour,
Of a torrential rain.

The Autumn chill,
Clinging to my bones.

The bustling sounds of
The city,
Loud in my ear.

I am hopelessly longing for you.

We fight,
We live,
We yearn.
We understand each other.

And yet,
On a night like tonight,
There are unspoken words
That hang in the misty air
Between us.

Baiting the other
To break first.

So I’ll say it
With tears in my eyes,
And rain adhered to my
Skin,
Mark my heart,
And make me yours.

Make my soul come alive
Like it used to be.

Touch me with your
Angelic flames,
So I may see the
Gilded roads of Heaven’s sky.

Because I’ve been
In the gloomy darkness
For so long,
I have forgotten
What sunlight feels like.

I had forgotten what the taste
Of love is,
And I’m certain it tastes like
You.
