My heart is reserved,
Set to private,
Invitation only.

For I have been a
Caged blue nightingale
For so long,
That I have forgotten what it
Feels like to be loved,
Cherished,
Made to feel special and beautiful.

You see,
I believe that
The Angels were too busy
Chain smoking my air,
While playing chess
With my life
In the garden,
To notice that I wasn’t there
Anymore.

I had floated off into dreamland,
Looking for the one
That would unlock my
Gilded prison
And take me to paradise.

The one who would repair my heart
And set my soul free.

So, I’ll wait.

I’ll wait for my savior to come,
With keys in hand,
To find me across the void.

Give me my divine ending,
With syllables of starlight.

Rewrite the pages of my
Unfinished story,
Dipped in the soul and ink of life.
