I close my eyes and dream.

I dream of adventures.

Of fantasies.
Of untraveled places.
Of Neverland.

I long for a life of daring escapades,
Of sparkling stars dancing
In velvet skies.

I long for moonlight kisses
Steeped in nighttime nostalgia.

I long for another moment
With you.

But when I open my eyes,
I hear a distant melody
Playing quietly in the background.

I open the window,
And feel the song,
Vibrate in my bones.

The rain hums
Along with my tears,
And their harmony
Reminds me of you.

Of you,
The composer of my
Sorrowful tune.

The ballad that still
Plucks at my heartstrings.
