When you think of me,
Think of holding my hand
When your pain was too great
And you were afraid.
Remember my song,
And how it played in the
Background that night,
When you told me you
Loved me.
When you are lost for words,
And are searching for answers,
Look to the metaphors of the mysterious moon,
And my poetry will be there.
And though forever
May not have been for us,
Please don’t forget me.
Don’t forget how much I loved
You.
How much I love you still,
Even as I write this,
With tears streaming down
My face,
With wishes like paper wings
At my fingertips.
From your soul to mine,
If the world was ending
I’d still come to you.
I’d still fight your demons with you.
If only you’d asked.
If only you’d asked.
