Poison In Every Line

My pen touches the
Rough sheet of paper
And I say to myself
That this is the last
Time I’m writing
About you.

But when the ink starts
To flow,
And the bridge of the song
Rises,
I can’t help but let it
Drip out onto the page.

One memory turns into two,
Two into more.

More mad scribbles
More love lines.

Am I dreaming or are you real?
Because the face I see
Between each stanza,
Smiles back at me.

Full of desire and admiration.
Full of longing and passionate
Fire.

You loved me,
When my rainstorms
Turned to hurricanes.

You loved me,
With my dark
And tortured soul.

So why don’t you stay awhile?
Become the melody
To my mystic poetry,
Become the poison
I write about in every line.

Because I would gladly drink
It all,
Even unto the last drop.

Prompts:
“Why don’t you stay?”
“I drink poison in every line I write about you”
“Am I dreaming or are you real?”
“You’re the melody to my mystic”
“This is the last time I’m writing about you”#promptsbyncandark

I've always had a passion for writing. In this crazy world that we live in, I find my solace in made up words and make believe stories. Let's escape into the void and forget about it all just for a moment or two.
