LoveStruck

Lovestruck between
The pages of the dark romance,
You’ve written for me.

I fall in love with each word,
And hang on to every phrase.

With a stroke of your pen,
You’ve bled our souls
Onto every stanza,
And dipped your quill
In our blackest shadows.

You’ve written my secrets
In various colors of light
And dark.
Illustrated my sadness
And my triumphs,
Like you lifted those memories
From my mind,
And joined them with yours.
Creating a masterpiece
Of poetry and song.

We are different shades of love,
You and I.
But, somehow,
You know my heart,
Better than I do.

You know the forgotten parts of me.

You, the kinder reflection
Of what lives inside of me.

Much different
Than the monsters
That reside in my dreams.

You, the stranger in the landscape
Of my heart,
That I welcome without trepidation.

Because I already know how this ends.

It ends with us chasing the night,
Side by side.
Like shooting stars,
Granting wishes.

It ends with us,
Finishing the dark romance,
You began writing
When we first met.
