I’ll Never Forget

I fight every day against
My mind’s frailties.
Holding onto silken memories,
In my head.
They’re like postcards from nowhere,
With your face etched in.

Moments of a past lived
In Spring mornings and
Summer nights.

Moments like the first time
We said, “Hello.”

I feel them fleeting
As each day passes
And I try to hold onto
The fragments of them.

Grasping at the edges
Like trying to catch
Snowflakes in my hand.

Your kisses on my lips,
You hand down my spine,
The memory is vivid and alive.

And when I sleep at night,
I use your memory to cover
Me whole,
So I will never forget what you
Feel like.

One day,
I may lose it all,
But I’ll never forget
The way you laughed
At my silly jokes.

I’ll never forget how your
Voice sounded like magick.

I've always had a passion for writing. In this crazy world that we live in, I find my solace in made up words and make believe stories. Let's escape into the void and forget about it all just for a moment or two.
