I have felt the twisted kisses
Of heartbreak.
And have had them
Reduce me to reckless waves.
I have searched for a remedy
For loneliness,
On the sheets of sin and romance.
For someone I’d hoped
Would give me the
Sweet summer love I have wished for.
And then you came to me.
Gentle, like flowers in sand.
You held me close,
And pressed your lips to mine.
And I stood there,
Bare in flesh and heart,
Simmering under moonlight
Surrendering myself to you completely.
Lost in a moment that’s seared into my skin.
For you are the dream
I’ve been hoping for.
The shattered stars,
I’ve seen when I close my eyes.
You are a memory
Of moon-soaked horizons.
And the safety I had fought to find.
