Come to the edge
Of the rising deep,
Before I can no longer see
Your face.

Meet me by the surface,
Before the water in my veins
Starts to overflow.

For I am hungry
To look upon the stars of ginger
That dot your eyes.

The ones I see in my
Watery dreams.

Come with me,
To the briny depths
Of this utopia,
And when you do,
I wish you to stay.

Not just for right now,
No.

Stay until the sun
No longer rises
And the tunnel to tomorrow
Is sealed shut.

For I cannot imagine
A future where you and I
Don’t exist.

Where your blood
And mine are not intrinsically linked
In some cosmic way.

Where your name is wiped
From my thoughts.

And my underwater
Paradise becomes a tomb
Without you.

My love,
Take my hand,
Release your fears
And follow me into the abyss.

For my kingdom is night,
And I want us to live
Forever there.
