Or “should be us.”

Bring me your midnight,
And let it just be…
Us.

Us, in the afterglow
Of a dancing moonlight.

Us, with desire still clinging
To our bones.

Because I have wasted summers,
In search of a cheap paradise,
When you were there,
Waiting for me by the sea.

So take me to the water,
For I would follow you
Into the abyss,
With daylight burning
At my feet,
For another chance
For our souls to meet again.
