The rain clouds are rolling in,
The sun has hidden its face
And the darkness is starting
To creep across the sky.

But there is no fear in my bones.
It calms me,
Like nothing else can.

It calms me like you used to.

So I sit down to write,
And the words that have
Been stunted in my mind,
Start to flow.

Letters begin to form
As the tears from my eyes
Drop onto the page.

Dotting it,
Splashing it,
Drowning it.

I pray,
That should you read these words,
They make you think of the nights
We danced in the middle of the
Gale.

I hope they make you smile
And laugh at how free we were.

I hope when you see the storm again
You’ll chase it,
Like we once did.

And when you feel the rain
On your skin,
You’ll sigh and remember me.

Because when I see the downpour,
My tears won’t stop falling.

Much like I haven’t stopped falling
For you.
