How was your weekend? Mine went by so incredibly fast! But I’m officially done with this semester and can finally breathe a sigh of relief!
For the quote of the week, I always see this one floating around. I think it’s the Universe’s way of telling me to pay attention to what it says, lol.
“You deserve the kind of love you would give someone else.”
I mean…damn.
I’m a lover. I have a huge heart. And sometimes I give too much to a situation that doesn’t warrant it.
I think it’s because I assume people will treat me like I treat them.
And because I assume that or have high expectations of them, I end up heartbroken.
It goes back to that “people-pleasing” thing we’ve talked so much about.
And I wholeheartedly believe that it’s trauma-based, you know.
That little girl inside of me still hopes and wishes and dreams that everyone will stay. And that everyone will love her.
Reality tells us something different. But that shouldn’t make a soft-hearted person discouraged.
Because that just means you’re so full of love and want to share it with everyone.
You believe, just like I do that everyone not only is capable of it but deserves it.
We have to be careful who we spend that energy on.
Be careful with your heart.
Be careful with your love.
Remember what I always tell you, if they can’t be there for you when you need them the most or show you the love and respect you deserve, they can kick rocks.
