Happy Sunday, my loves 💜🖤💜
How was your weekend? Mine was busy. Something happened on Friday that threw me entirely off my course, but as always, I bounced back. I’m ready to take on the challenges of a new week. I hope you are too.

For the quote of the week, I chose this particular one because it’s almost like a punch in the gut to me. Another lesson I have to remember. Even now.

“Do not allow your loneliness to lower your standards.”

Damn.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve made some terrible decisions when fighting a bout of loneliness.

I struck up friendships with people who, under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t call friends.

Now, I chalk it up to being young and dumb. But what it is, is that I was scared.

I was scared to face the passage of time by myself. Scared to lose another person, so I’d hold on tight to this one. No matter how detrimental their friendship was to me.

As I said before, I’m still learning this lesson.

But, what is a lesson, if you don’t thoroughly learn it and understand it?

Still a lesson that needs to be taught.

My loves, you have come too far to lay your happiness at someone’s else feet.

You have done too much to become someone’s footstool.

Be careful with your feelings and your heart. Because not everyone you call “friend” is one.

Remember what I always tell you, if they can’t be there for you to celebrate your triumphs or be there for you when you need them the most, they can kick rocks.

You deserve REAL friendship
You deserve REAL love
You deserve REAL, not fake
