No More Fairytales

There are
No more fairytales
In this love story.

Just sins ribboned in rubies
And my heart,
Within the pages of your soul.

The princess is no longer
Trapped in her guilded cage,
And the prince is no longer
The savior.

Because nothing shines brighter than
Unspoken truth
Of two hearts shattered by

We’ve witnessed the beginning
Of another end,
You and I
And we search for the light to see the

There are
No more fairytales
In this love story.

There are no heroes or

For, if love is wicked,
Then so are we.
We are but two damaged creatures,
Resurrected from a graveyard
Of broken dreams,
Who found each other in the dark.

I beg of you,
My love,
Let my poetry seduce
Your mind,
And take these metaphors
And make them your gospel rhyme,
So you may hear my voice when you
Read them
