Summer’s gone
And the nights are
Getting lonelier.

The sun is fading
But I still feel its heat
On my skin.

Midnight laced sunsets and
Warm breeze,
Rustling through my hair.
And I hear your voice
In my ear,
Repeating my name.

Heartbreaks and
Orange skies
The waves keep
Calling me back.

I look for you in
Every ocean swell,
I look for your
Haunting eyes.

I play our song again,
Right before I sleep.

I keep it on replay
Because that’s where
You’ll be.

Late night conversations
And memories of you,
Are all that I need.

I scroll back through
Every message,
Holding back tears,
Hoping my wishes come true.

One response to “Memories of You”

  1. A amazing poem dear Kim. A poem for you.
    “I need our midnight talks,
I need your legs wrapped around legs and
I need to hear the gentleness of your voice.
The night had become colder and
I whispered to the lovely night.
    Please sweet lady,
come to me and make me smile again, make me laugh again.”
