My deepest secrets
Are not hidden from you.

You watch and wait for me,
I know.

Fingers clasped and nervous,
I know what lurks in the night
For me.

But who I am to question love like this?

Love as profound
As the depths of the sea.

You hold my darkness
In the palm of your hand.

Finding bits of light
While you bide your time,
Until I’m yours.

Until my heart is free
From the cage
I’ve imprisoned it in.
