Moonlight maiden,
Dark siren of stars.

I hear your call to me.

On barefoot nights like these,
I hear your cry for air and freedom.

And I’ve come to rescue you.

The waves crash against the beach
Lapping at my toes
And I feel your grasp,
Your pull on me.

Under your spell,
I dive into the icy waters.

Into your tangled reefs.

Visions of love and dripping rainbows
Cloud my sight.

But, I cannot resist.
Nor do I try.

Moonlight maiden,
Matriarch of Night
I pray you go deeper into my abyss.

For your shine
Penetrates my body,
Like a shiver of my soul.

And my mind is coated with
Your darkness.

Between the edges of
Midnight and Dawn,
I give in to you.

To your music,
Your melody
And your song.

I’m tied to your words,
So I give you what you crave.

For instead of rescuing you,
I am the prisoner, no more.
