I saw you in a
Dream last night,
In a lonely place
Beside the midnight river.

It was one of
Many tired nights,
Under a November moon
Where I waited for the
Warmth of its light
To calm the ache in me.

And there you came,
Like a ghost,
A phantom,
A cool salve
That felt like
Dancing in the rain.

And you gave me freedom
Off the taste of
Your bitten lips.

And it was like Heaven
Had taken hold of me,
Shedding stardust in its wake.

For I have been
Seeking salvation
In the traces of yesterday.

Looking for you
In the place
Beyond the stars.

Because I still hold a place for you,
In my mind,
My soul,
And my heart.

You, who divides the tide,
From day and night.

You, who is much like the
Smoke blotting out the sun,
Protecting me from its searing heat,
So I may only see your face.

I need only you.
Crave only you.

For you are what my soul
Calls for;
My destiny encased in
Bone and blood.
