Months had passed
Since you left,
And I could still feel
The phantom pain
Of that night.

The storm,
The tears,
I thought I would die.
Die right there
On the steps of
That old house.

With the raindrops
Drowning me
In emotions
And the thunder
Breaking my heart
Even more.

I lived on after that.
And I tried so hard
Not to remember you.

But your scent clung
To my clothes,
Your voice,
Stayed in my ear.

And then one night,
You called.

And I thought my
Heart would stop.

You came to me,
And held me like
Time had never ceased
And didn’t know our
Names.

I thought I had lost
Forever with you.

But instead,
I’m lost in a midnight,
Dreaming of what
Your love still feels like.

And it feels like rain.
