Untouchable

Sleepless nights,
Tossing and
Turning.

My dreams are full
Of you.

Every smile
You ever smiled.

Every kiss on
My neck.

You color every
Rolling field,
Every flower
That blooms.

Every time you cry,
In these dreams of mine,
My heart breaks.

For I cannot reach you,
And you are untouchable,
Like the distant diamond sky.

Betrayed by a heart of stone
And a distance that is too great,
I take my palette of poetic musings
And paint the portrait of us.

Forever trusting who we are
And the lifetime of
Memories we’ve shared.

Trusting that when the end of
The world is nigh,
We’ll find each other,
Face the fire; and let it come.

Together.

But for now,
All I have are dreams.
Visions.
Whispers.

I feel you
And hear you
Everywhere that I go.

Like a ghost
In the shadows
That haunts me.

But I do not fear you.
Because I still love you.

And need you in every kind of way.
