My Love: Captured

My love,
My heart has been
Through the struggle,
The war,
The desolation on the
Battlefield.

I keep it armored and
Locked away deep inside
Of my chest,
For my own protection.

But last night,
Wrapped in the tenderness
Of your arms,
I felt it beat,
For the first time.

You spoke the words
That broke down the walls
Around it.
Kissed my lips until your
Poetry pierced through the veil.

You captured me.
Bound my heart
To yours
And made me your
Prisoner.

And I didn’t fight back.

I have loved
I have hated
I’ve desired
And weaponized
The touches of my
Love.

But you leave me,
Defenseless.
Utterly enraptured and
Addicted.

And I have no means
To stop it.
Nor do I want to.

I've always had a passion for writing. In this crazy world that we live in, I find my solace in made up words and make believe stories. Let's escape into the void and forget about it all just for a moment or two.
