Dangerous Liaisons

Do you remember when we
Fell in love?

On the darkest night,
In the darkest hour?

Two paths merged,
Like nightmares and fantasies
And became one.
We became a road paved with
Dangerous liaisons and wicked
Nightshade.

We turned our backs on our nature
And sought out the violence of love.
Because I belonged in your arms
And you belonged in mine.

You see,
The world may come
Crashing down around us
And the sky may fall to our feet,
But I will stand by you
On the brink of destruction,
With a ballad of tears
And blood on my lips
And dance this wretched dance
Of ours until our demise,
Or our salvation,
Whichever comes first.

So before it all ends,
Let’s run away from the impending
Doom.
Let’s run until our feet are sore
And tired.
Let’s run to the place where
The light won’t find us.
To the Forest of the Forgotten.
Where we first fell in love
And where our freedom and pleasure
Lie.

Let’s hold each other
And watch the world burn
Make love in its ashes
Until we both turn to dust.
