I’ve dreamt a
Thousand nightmares,
Cried a thousand tears,
Begged the goddess for release
When my fragile heart
Could take no more.
And when all hope was lost,
And I had given up
I saw your face
And felt a whisper
Of your love
Sing the echo of my heart.

You would light the flame in me,
To keep me safe from my own
Thoughts.
And I would no longer be
Afraid to love and be loved,
Walking through dawn’s light.
Because you would be there
To wipe my tears,
And hold my hand,
And turn my midnights
Into sunrise.
