Chased the Moon

When we chased the moon
That night,
Many winters ago,
We were invincible.

Baying at her,
Like hungry wolves,
Using her light,
To make the beautiful
Darkness.
Lost in love’s
Midnight embrace.

I pray you remember,
How our souls
Fused into one
And fell in love
With the sounds of
Summer.

I pray you remember
The late nights into
Early mornings,
Watching the sun rise
In the East.
When we spoke softly
About the little things
That no one else
Would remember.

I pray you remember the
Tears we shed,
When we transformed
Into the night,
Because when the moon is
High,
I still hear your howl
Against the wind.

I've always had a passion for writing. In this crazy world that we live in, I find my solace in made up words and make believe stories. Let's escape into the void and forget about it all just for a moment or two.
