I want to sit by the river with you.
Like we did when we were young.
Remember when we used to skip rocks and see whose rocks went the farthest?
Or, when we would roll up our pants leg, and walk out into the warm water until a fish swam by and scared us.
I want to go back to that summer when it was hot and humid, and you made fun of my frizzy hair.
We laughed and told ghost stories while swatting flies and mosquitoes.
I want to sit by the river with you.
Like we did when we were young.
When we didn’t have responsibilities and bills.
Just us and stolen kisses shared on the river bank.
I miss those times when we were young.
I miss those times with you.
