I loved you
As dark and
As Passionate
As bonfires lighting
The night sky
And became mirrored memories.
I loved you
When I was angry
At the world,
Engulfing myself in the
Warmth of blind rage.
Seething and filled
To the brim with fury.
I loved you then.
I love you still.
Because your love
Gave me peace,
When I tried to
Outrun my shadows.
When the weight of the world
Was too much for me to bear.
You gave me what my
Soul craved,
As I was swallowed by the storm.
Your tendrils of fire
Wrapped around me protectively,
Kept me calm
So I would not be afraid.
And though the ire still
Simmers,
And the ashes linger on my tongue
To distort my speech,
I know that you are here,
And that your love is
Like the flames reflected in my eyes.
The ones that burn
Like magick and ice
In the December rain.
