I was young, once.
And painfully in love.

I saw the stars
And the magick
Of the universe
In you.

I let my heart write my
Story,
And it ended in disaster.

I was broken,
My pages ripped
From my soul.

My world was upended
And the balance was broken
Between what I believed
And what was true.

But once I picked up
My pen,
And let the hurt flow,
I felt a change.

And to this day,
I believe that
Writing saves my sanity
Every moment
Of everyday.

I think of you often,
And forgave you
So long ago.

And maybe one day,
I’ll see you again.

Somewhere between
The moonrise and the sunset.

And I’ll say hello,
Like we were friends
Again.

Or maybe I’ll walk right by.

But until that day comes,
I’ll be strong,
And let my words
Soothe the pain.

Because though my heart is fragile
It grows stronger by the day.

Because though my heart is soft,
I’m better off today,
Than I was yesterday.
