I’ve traveled the
Sea of lost hopes,
Looking for the
Flowery wonderland
Of my dreams.
For too long,
I lived my life in the dark.
Never seeking the sun,
Because I was comfortable
In my solitude
And afraid my world would burn.
Upon reaching the shore,
I found what had always eluded
Me, in your arms
And shadowed kiss.
I avoided the danger of
Being swept away by the tide,
To find your light,
Shining from the rocks.
I found a love that would redeem
Me and all of my sins.
A love that would accept me for
All of my faults.
I’ve lived beyond time
And its persistent struggle
To get a glimpse of what truth
Is and the kaleidoscope of freedom.
You, whose soul is
Dark like mine,
Are my Midnight Angel,
My evening star,
Who plucks the words from
My heart and makes me
Bleed them onto the page.
You are the beautiful garden,
Forgotten by the world,
And abandoned just like me,
And you are the only place I
Call home.
