I took the moon for
Granted.
Wasted each moment of
Her passing phases.
Foolish in my handling of
Her.
Until one day,
Love’s broken arrow,
Tore my heart in twain
And poisoned me with
An elixir of heartbreak.
I begged the moon to stay.
To spend another night,
Under her gaze.
I begged to see the fullness
Of her smile,
And the waning of her tears.
I beg the moon to stay,
But pain is not so easily
Assuaged.
So here I am,
Wandering obsidian
Dreams and nightmares,
Searching for a way back.
A way back to the light.
A way back to you.
I’m lost in the realm of
Broken hearts,
Looking for you in the
Darkness inside.
Because YOU are my moon.
My stars,
My heaven.
And my fate is in your hands.
Like roses that bloom at
Midnight,
Your love is rare and extraordinary.
And I need but one more miracle
To see your face again.
