I am lost.
Lost in the darkest caverns of my memories.
I’m trying to fight it.
Trying to be strong.
But grief is like wrestling with a Giant.
He is unmatched and I am too small.
Thoughts of your laughter help me see the light.
It shines through like a crack in the wall.
Beckoning me to come forward.
Peace is just beyond the other side, I can feel it.
I hold your photo in my hand, and the tears splash against it.
I miss you.
My heart aches for you.
I am just searching for a soft place to land.
Searching for a way through my pain.
I hope that you’re searching for me too.
Find me soon because without you,
I am lost.

This poem does a brilliant job of portraying emotions using imagery.
