Happy Sunday, my loves 💜🖤💜
How was your weekend? Mine kind of flew by. I didn’t nearly get as much rest as I needed! Next weekend, I’ll make that a priority.

Now, for the quote of the week, I chose this one because it’s one of those lessons I had to learn. One I’m, in fact, still learning.

“Distance is my new response. I don’t return energy. I remove myself.”

You know that saying, “If they wanted to, they would?”

I would hear that and know it applied to me, but I would make excuses. “They’re busy. They’re stressed. They don’t have time, etc.”

Everything but the truth.

I would put myself out there and be the first to call or text every single time to get crumbs of attention.

And at first, I felt great that they would respond back. Then I realized they were just replying and not interested in knowing about me.

The realization hurt.

Now, I can see it. Read the writing on the wall, as it were.

If someone doesn’t want to share with you if they don’t want to make the effort to maintain your friendship, let them go.

Don’t send paragraphs about it. They won’t read it.

Don’t leave voicemails. They won’t hear it.

Instead, take yourself out of the equation. Save your energy and distance yourself.

Because remember, if they wanted to, they would.

So, please, my loves, be careful with yourself.

And be careful with your heart.
