Happy Sunday, my loves 💜🖤💜
And a very special Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there. Today I’m thinking about my dad. And although he’s not here, I still feel his presence in everything I do.

Now, for the quote of the week, this is a harsh lesson that I’m still learning to this day.

“Sometimes you don’t realize you’re actually drowning when you’re trying to be everyone else’s anchor.”

Damn.

You know, I’m such a tender-hearted person that I tend to give more of myself to people who wouldn’t necessarily reciprocate.

I think, based on my childhood, I always felt like I had to please everyone so that they would stay.

Never wanting them to be sad or upset, I would file my own feelings away and swallow my pride just to make them feel better.

We’ve talked about this before, I know. But it’s one of those life lessons that I am still learning.

And what I’ve found is that some people don’t deserve all of that energy.

They will use you and abuse you, and then when they’re done with you; they’ll throw you away.

Well, I’m not something to be thrown away or swept aside.

And neither are you, my loves.

We’ve come too far on this journey to go back.

We’ve come too far to be mistreated by people who wouldn’t give us an afterthought.

If they can’t love you for who you are and be there for you when you need them, you know what I always say? They can kick rocks.

Please be careful with yourselves, my loves.

And be careful with your heart.

You deserve to celebrate your PROGRESS
You deserve to find PEACE
You deserve KINDNESS.
