There is beauty in the unknown.

Beauty in the following the night
And the bright stars that light my way.

There is beauty in the smile
You hide from the world.

The one that sets a
Wildfire in my heart.

And on those dreary autumn days
Where my soul is bare and naked,
And I’m at my most vulnerable,
I’ll think of you.

I’ll think of you
And how you turn
The ashy, burnt horizon
Into peppermint skies.

How you changed the
Ruby shards of the ache in my heart,
Into ecstasy bound.

So I’ll wait for you,
As this switchblade September
Comes to a close.

And I’ll sip in the moments
And memories that you’ve given
Me.

Because you have unlocked
Something in me,
I never thought I’d see.

That there is beauty in the unknown,
And I am but a traveler
Discovering its new sights.
