I would touch the stars to feel your embrace again.
I would travel to the ends of the Earth to hear your voice again.
I would dance on the surface of the moon to kiss your lips again.
I would swim the depths of the sea for the scent of your skin.
I would do anything for just a moment with you.
I would.
Because your soul speaks to mine.
Maybe it’s the hint of green in your eyes that does it.
Or could it be the way the moon glints off of them when you look at me.
Maybe it’s the sly dangerous smile that graces your lips.
Or the way you part them before we kiss.
All I know is that I’m taken with you.
Each and every single part of you.
Desperate for your breath on my skin.
Desperate to hear my name drip from your mouth.
Desperate for the touch of you.
I am taken by you.
She had waited for this moment for so long. He had been away for 6 months and today he was coming home. The excitement in his voice when she spoke to him the night before was contagious. Oh how she’s missed him. His laugh and devilish smirk, his kiss.
She woke up early that morning. Rushing through her coffee and toast, hastily feeding her cat, far too anxious for anything else. She wanted to be the first face be he saw when he stepped off of the train. She got there in good time. She kept checking her watch, it was the one he gave her for her birthday. On the back of the face, the words inscribed, “You’re my savior”. She smiled at the memory, him telling her how she had saved him, telling her that his life was forever hers.
She heard a noise in the distance and turned to see it coming in fast. His train was not slowing down. It was not stopping. Panic started to rise in her belly. The people around her started shouting, calling for help. It’s not stopping.
It flew through the track and she began to run alongside it, hoping for a glimpse of his face. She saw him, before she ran out of platform. His face contorted with horror and anguish. Time slowed in that instance. She focused on his lips, moving in a way that only she would see. His mouth formed two words and dread instantly flooded her body.
Everyone else ran around, yelling and screaming. The sounds of their cries ringing in her ears. But his wordless plea struck her. She walked passed the strangers in the platform, away from the runway train. She knew what she had to do. She was going to have to become the person she used to be. But she would do it, for him. Only for him.
But what did he say to her? What was his plea to her that would change her back to her former self? The two words that began their love affair. Two words that meant she would burn the world down for him. The only two words that mattered. “Save me.”
